Regina Dominican Sophomore Volleyball player Gabi Kerrigan has been named the Athlete of the Week for the week of April 12th. She was nominated by Coach Orth because of her defensive intensity. We caught up with Gabi for a quick interview.
BM: Gabi, congratulations on winning the Athlete of the Week award for April 12th. You were nominated by your coaches because of your defensive intensity. How does it feel to be the athlete of the week?
GK: It is so exciting! JV Volleyball girls got it two weeks in a row, too 😉
BM: What is the best part about going to school at Regina Dominican?
GK: My favorite part about coming to Regina is how you get to be a part of so many different teams and clubs and interests!
BM: What other activities are you involved with at RDHS?
GK: Orchesis, Cross Country, Sophomore Class Leadership Board, DEI Club, Leadership Scholars
BM: Do you have a favorite memory from volleyball?
GK: Beating Res this year was pretty fun! Serving the winning point is always a blast.
BM: How has it been playing volleyball this year?
GK: It has been good, but it is going by so fast. Since the season is so short this year, we are already halfway through or something – it is hard to believe!
BM: Ok, now some rapid fire questions:
GK: Favorite teacher: Mr. Sanfilippo
GK: Favorite movie: perks of being a wallflower or Avatar or breakfast club or good will hunting
GK: Favorite sport: volleyball 🙂
GK: Favorite food: popcorn
Best of luck as you continue your season!
